I spent my whole working life in technology โ years with companies like Cisco, Citrix and Autodesk, helping businesses make sense of complicated systems. I was good at it, but the part I enjoyed most was always the same: sitting with someone, taking the pressure out of it, and watching them go from worried to confident.
When I retired, I started volunteering at Computer Pals Northern Beaches, helping older folks one-on-one with whatever was tripping them up. That's where The Calm Tech really began. I saw how often the problem wasn't the person โ it was being rushed, talked down to, or left with a fix they didn't understand and couldn't repeat.
So I built something different. I come to your home, at a time that suits you. We sit down, usually over a cuppa, and work through whatever's frustrating you at your pace. No jargon. No rushing. No making you feel silly for asking. And I don't fix something and vanish โ I make sure you can do it yourself next time, and you get it written down so you're never stuck.
I only take on work I'm genuinely good at โ Apple devices, Wi-Fi, smart TVs, printers, photos, online safety and the like. If it's something I'm not the right person for, I'll tell you straight and point you to someone who is.
If any of this sounds like what you've been after, the first step is easy and free.
Patient, in-home tech help for older adults across Sydney's Northern Beaches. Fixed prices, Seniors Card 10% off, every fix written down.
You can't always be there, and you'd rather they didn't struggle on alone โ or hand their details to a stranger who'll rush them. I can be the patient, trusted hand in their home when you can't be. We'll start with a free 15-minute chat about what they need, and you're welcome to be part of it.
